New Generation Academy (NGA) is proud to announce the launch of our Robotics Maker Lab, established through the generous support of GIZ, in partnership with the Government of Rwanda and MINICT (Ministry of ICT and Innovation). Officially inaugurated on November 5, this facility serves as a hub of innovation for students and teachers across Kigali, bridging the technology gap and bringing hands-on learning in robotics and design to learners of all ages. Equipped with advanced tools—including virtual reality headsets, 3D printers, and laser cutters—the lab enables practical, interactive education in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields. Students can immerse themselves in virtual environments, create detailed designs with precision, and bring projects to life with 3D printing and laser cutting. Accessible to learners across Kigali, the Robotics Maker Lab is available for use during both regular school hours and holiday programs, providing unique opportunities for hands-on learning to students within and beyond our campus. This initiative, supported by the Ministry of ICT and Innovation, aligns with Rwanda’s competence-based curriculum and contributes to building a future-ready generation.
On this Friday 13th October New Generation Academy (NGA), Ministry of ICT and Innovation (MINICT) and Digital Solutions for Sustainable Development (DSSD) project of GIZ signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) as an agreement to build a robotic maker laboratory at New Generation Academy. The laboratory to be built will serve the whole country by not only being a laboratory of reference in Robotics but also supporting the National Robotics Programe. By signing this MoU, NGA committed to become an ambassador of the Rwandan Government Robotics for Youth program. The objective of this joint statement is to establish a robotics lab at NGA, for its students and teachers’ use. This lab will also be accessible to stakeholders such as innovators, teachers and other people involved in the national robotics program. The MoU was signed by:
